Meet the Bag: Lockpoint by Edition22
Let’s get to know Edition22 and their Lockpoint crossbody bag. If you’re not familiar with Edition22, they are a sister company of the Bugatti Group. Founded by former football player Etienne Boulay, the brand brings modern, minimalistic, and gender-neutral designs to their products. As much as they look good, they perform just as well. The Lockpoint collection is designed for everyday use. Featuring three bags, each unique on their own, we will focus on the front sling-style crossbody. The bag features a clean silhouette and a relatively slim profile. Measuring in at 7Lx13Hx1.25W and weighing in at roughly 2lbs, it is certainly not bulky. The exterior is a polyurethane faux leather, which we found to be durable and extremely helpful in the rain. The interior is soft-lined with hints of a geometric design for an upgraded feel. You can choose from black or khaki (really, more of a dark green), and get yours for only $40!
I want to really get into this bag and everything it offers now. I’m going to break this down based on the rating categories from the introduction. Here we go!
Construction and Materials
The first thing you’ll notice is how this bag feels. The polyurethane vegan leather (or faux, your choice) has a rubbery feel to it. You’re going to love that the first time it rains, it really does keep everything dry. It streaks a bit with water, but it does clean up very easily. The exterior may feel a bit stiff at first, but with use, the material softens up quite nicely. The zippers are smooth, and the main compartment zipper actually has a small flap that covers the zipper, adding yet another layer of weather protection. The interior lining feels very nice, and the pockets are well constructed. You’ll notice the strap and buckle on the bag are thick and robust, which is great. Metal adjusters on the strap are a nice touch. The stitching is clean, tight, and consistent across the entire bag. Quality and craftsmanship are certainly not lacking here, especially at only a $40 price point.
Score: 5/5
Design and Functionality
This bag is all about streamlined utility. The matte finish and sleek lines keep it low-profile, while the compartments keep you organized.
Key design highlights:
- Front magnetic slip pocket: Perfect for your phone and/or sunglasses
- Main compartment: Spacious, with two slip pockets for business cards, receipts, anything small. Zippered compartment for other small daily essentials
- Hidden rea pocket: Secure spot for passports or emergency cash
- Key leash with AirTag holder: Super convenient and travel-friendly
- Adjustable strap: Comfortable for all-day wear, though looser fits may loosen slightly over time.
The only thing missing? Built-in card slots to replace the need for a wallet or card holder.

Durability
During this test period, my Lockpoint crossbody has been through a lot. Daily use while running errands? Check. Getting stuffed in the door pocket of the car? Check. Carrying essentials for a week at Disney (includes Florida rain)? Double-check. Getting crammed into a suitcase and flying overseas? You bet. It also survived Irish wind and rain at the Cliffs of Moher and crowded Amsterdam streets. All while keeping phones dry, wallets safe, and passports hidden. I think I even stashed a snack or two in there, don’t judge. All of that, and the only thing I’ve noticed is that the polyurethane leather only became a bit softer and more flexible. Better to move with you if you ask me. No brainer for a perfect score in this category.

Convenience
The entire reason for a crossbody or sling bag is convenience. So if the bag doesn’t shine here, it just isn’t worth it. Based on what I’ve said so far, you can probably see where this is going. This crossbody from Edition22 is sleek, comfortable, lightweight, and full of features. Convenience absolutely reigns supreme here. I’ve loved it from the first wear. Having everything you need slung right across your chest is far and away better than bulky pockets, believe me. I love the front slip pocket (forgot to mention even that kept my phone dry in those Florida downpours), the main compartment is damn-near perfect, and the hidden rear pocket is the chef’s kiss. Again, the only thing I would change to bring this category to a perfect 5 out of 5, would be built-in card slots. Is it a dealbreaker? Absolutely not. Could I get a slim card holder to throw in there instead of my wallet? Of course. Will I? Yeah, probably. That being said, this bag checks so many boxes for convenience that my critique is hardly warranted.

Style
I’ve touched on this throughout this review, but it deserves its own section. The matte coloring of the exterior is subtle, and I love that. The design itself is streamlined and sleek, with storage that integrates into that design language. Everything about this bag is minimal, and it’s the perfect complement to any outfit. The hits of the “EDITION22” logo on the strap and the front flap are there, but not in your face. It isn’t gaudy, it isn’t loud, it isn’t offensive. It's exactly what Edition22 sets out to be.
