Bugatti Wellington Review

We recently highlighted the eco-friendly hardshell crossbody from Bugatti during our latest trip. That crossbody bag is not yet available to the public. Today, we would like to review a fantastic set that you can get your hands on. Our Wellington 3-piece luggage set has now joined us on a handful of trips, and we are impressed, to say the least.

Overview:

The Wellington Collection is a hardshell collection from Bugatti consisting of a carry-on, medium size checked luggage, and a large size checked luggage. This collection features all the bells and whistles including zippered interior pockets, telescoping handles, 360-degree spinner wheels, zipper expansion and TSA locks to secure your belongings. Bugatti leaves out nothing with this set, inside or out.

Design:

Aesthetically the luggage is simple and timeless. The lightweight ABS case displays the Bugatti placard across the top of the front face. Two slim straps of vegan leather trim the case near the top and bottom. Between those leather trims are ribs adding some texture and contrast to the body of the case. Internally the left side of the luggage has a zippered cover that holds a zippered mesh pocket leaving you plenty of options for securing your belongings. The center of the bag features a long, narrow zippered pocket, perfect for smaller items and belts. The right side of the luggage includes sturdy elastic straps to secure everything you can pack inside these large cases. All three sizes in this collection provide excellent storage space and are very thoughtfully laid out. Available in 4 classic colors, this luggage will remain in style for years to come.

Functionality:

There is nothing this luggage set cannot do for you. The zippered pockets and pouches make packing a breeze and allow for increased ability to separate when packing for multiple people within a single case. The depth of the case on each side when folded open is astounding. Even when packed full the luggage remains light and extremely manageable thanks in part to the lightweight ABS hardshell case. Despite the size of these luggage, they are exceptionally lightweight without sacrificing durability. Our luggage endured quite a beating from an airline and kept out belonging safe and undamaged despite the baggage handlers obvious rough handling. The spinner wheels glide effortlessly across most surfaces from airports to New York City streets. Telescoping handles are must have features and seen across luggage across the world, but they aren’t always sturdy. Bugatti has equipped their luggage with easy to use, lightweight and sturdy handles which us an undervalued feature. We have used cheaper luggage with cheaper handles and let’s just say those handles do not easily extend or lock into place any longer. Another overlooked feature is zipper quality. Bugatti uses high quality metal zipper pulls that very securely lock into the TSA locks. The zipper teeth themselves are robust and heavy duty, adding another layer of security and durability with this collection.

The Verdict:

The Wellington Collection falls in the median price range as far as Bugatti luggage sets are concerned but it performs like a high-quality, luxury luggage set should. The 3-piece set retails for $430 and is worth every bit of that. You can buy each piece individually which allows you the ability to be flexible with your needs and your budget. Overall, this is an incredible luggage collection at a great value. Large, lightweight, durable and stylish are all the adjectives you want to use to describe your luggage, and we would use nothing less than that. If you’re looking for luggage that really can make your travel better, this is it.
